The prize is for 700 000 Swiss Franc and is awarded by the Louis-Jeantet foundation, which annually allocates 4.2 million Franc to promote biomedical research. This year’s second prize-winner is Antonio Lanzavecchia, head of the Institute for Research in Biomedicine in Bellinzona, Switzerland. The prizes will be presented at an award ceremony in Geneva on 25 April.
